CONGRATULATIONS to our
MCHS Grizzly Concert Band for their
Award-Winning performance at the
WorldStrides Heritage Music Festival
On Saturday, May 24, the MCHS Grizzly Concert Band took a SILVER MEDAL at a gathering of some of the country's elite musical performers. Performing Dr. Smith's arrangements of Felix Mendelssohn's "The Hebrides (overture)" and Antonin Dvorak's "Symphony #9 in E Minor from The New World, Op. 95," the Grizzlies stunned everyone at the Foothill College Smithwick Theater. In his remarks to the group, Dr. Michael Huff of Utah State University stated, "You guys have something that you do that we rarely hear in high school music programs: you understand the concept of NUANCE."

The band and colorguard proudly represent our community at the dedication of the 9/11 memorial in the Mariposa Art Park. The memorial consists of steel from the rubble of 9/11 transformed into art that honors and remembers the fallen.
