MCHS COLOR GUARD
Formed as a color guard in 2005, the group has become an integral part of the Grizzly Band. The group competed in the San Joaquin Valley Color Guard and Percussion Review for several years, winning a most improved award. The Guard performs in all events with the marching band, including parades, Fresno State Band Day, halftime shows and contests and festivals. The guard's equipment includes tall-flags, batons, rifles and sabers, as well as serving as banner carriers.
Under the leadership of Marni Kelsey, the Guard has won numerous awards at Mariposa and Coulterville parades, and won a medal at the 2010 Central California Band Review. In 2011, the Guard performed for the "Band of Pride" and 92nd Annual Veterans Day Parade in New York City with the Grizzly Band.
